Dean S. Dussias

Founding Partner

Dean Dussias has been a practitioner in the area of family law for two decades. He represents business leaders, professionals and other high profile clients in complex financial matters. He also has been a voice for children representing their rights in divorce cases as a guardian ad litem in the Cook County courts.

Dean founded his boutique law practice in 2001. The Law Office of Dean Dussias quickly became a go-to firm in the area of family law. Prior to that, Dean was a partner with the firm of Rosenfeld, Rotenberg, Hafron and Shapiro where he practiced exclusively in the area of family law-related matters.

Dean is a fellow and past president of the Illinois chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers (AAML). The AAML is the preeminent organization of family law attorneys consisting of approximately 1,600 fellows nationwide. He is the only Greek American lawyer in Illinois who is a fellow of the AAML. He is regularly recognized as one of the Chicago area’s leading family law attorneys. His honors include selection as one of Illinois’ “Super Lawyers” and “Leading Lawyers.” He was also selected in 2002 as one of “40 under 40 attorneys to watch in Illinois.”

An accomplished speaker and author, Dean gives lectures and writes articles for legal publications about the latest developments in family law. He has been a faculty member and lecturer at the Illinois Institute of Continuing Legal Education (IICLE) and often appears in the media talking about divorce related topics.

Dean grew up in the south suburbs of Chicago and graduated from Loyola University of Chicago in 1987 and from the John Marshall Law School in 1990. He is licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois and in the Federal Court.

Dean is a member in good standing with the Chicago Bar Association (CBA), the Illinois State Bar Association (ISBA) and the American Bar Association (ABA). He is fluent in the Greek language and a member and former director of the Hellenic Bar Association (HBA).
